As I move into my sophomore year here at the university of Iowa, I feel truly overwhelmed with joy and comfort. The jump from freshman to sophomore year is a very large jump. Honestly, the amount of comfortability with classes, school routine, relationships, and even Iowa City as a whole is significant. Coming back for a second year, makes you realize how much you had missed this city when you were back home.\u00a0 Being back again makes me truly fathom how at home I feel here in Iowa City. The restaurants, shops, streets, all feel so much like home to me and makes me feel an immense amount of comfort.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The return for classes has also been amazing for me so far.\u00a0 Despite being only two weeks into my classes, I feel such a great amount of comfort with various professors routines and styles.\u00a0 It is also nicer to know how the general college life works as I adjust. Last year, I came into Iowa, not knowing many people or how college classes went.\u00a0 This year, in contrast, I have many great friends and a tremendous community surrounding me, that I can further those relationships instead of being challenged to start them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From the football games, to various campus events, sophomore year allows one to dive further into their passions that they have already cultivated.\u00a0 This allows us to step into more leadership roles or begin to learn how the upperclassmen deal in those higher positions on campus. You go from trying out new things, to now being able to dive deeper into the areas on campus that you already have a heart and interest for.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, on a tangible basis, when you return to Iowa for a second time, you already know the whole campus.\u00a0 From going to and from class, to knowing your favorite shops, to even the best study stops, already knowing these various places saves a great amount of time, but at the same time opens the door to further explore this great city.\u00a0 Over the summer, new restaurants have come in and much construction has been done, to improve on already the best college town in America.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
