This past weekend the Hawks Nest took 100-some odd students 8 hours north to lay our claim\u00a0on the Big House.\u00a0 Not only did our beloved Hawkeyes dismantle the four\u00a0week hypothetical Heisman trophy winner (Denard Robinson), but we came out with a\u00a0huge victory that should light a nice little fire under\u00a0the players arses for the\u00a0road ahead.<\/p>\n
The Big House, well, was\u00a0The Big House.\u00a0 The rafters shook, the noise pierced ears, the fans were a refreshing mixture of accepting, humble, and drunk, and the game was great (a little to close for comfort in the 4th quarter though).<\/p>\n
I know I shouldn’t use this as an outlet to promote a group that\u00a0I started, but I’m going to do just that.\u00a0\u00a0For those\u00a0prospective students out there that want to attend a school with a fan section\u00a0that rivals that of the Cameron Crazies of Duke,\u00a0Illini Pride of\u00a0U of I, or the Paint\u00a0Crew of\u00a0Purdue, Iowa is the place for you.<\/p>\n
If you\u00a0would like the opportunity to go to at least one road football game a year, Hawks Nest and Iowa is where it’s at.\u00a0 If you would like to go to at least two\u00a0Men’s Basketball games a year, the Hawks Nest and Iowa will provide.\u00a0 If you have interest in building one of the best student fan\u00a0sections in all of sports,\u00a0the Hawks Nest and Iowa are accepting\u00a0applications NOW!<\/p>\n
The athletics here at Iowa are on the up swing.\u00a0 Not only are we home\u00a0to the BEST\u00a0collegiate wrestling program in all of the U, S, of A, but we have one of the best collegiate football coaches and a team that looks\u00a0like it will stay in the rankings for years to come.\u00a0 We are also home\u00a0to a Men’s basketball program that is, in the words of T.J. Lavin\u00a0(from\u00a0the Real World\/Road Rules Challenges), are going to absolutely\u00a0“KILL\u00a0IT”.<\/p>\n
Oh and don’t forget about Bluder’s\u00a0Bunch and the Women’s basketball program.<\/p>\n
I know athletics had a lot to do with my decision in schooling, and I’m telling you folks, Iowa is where it’s at.<\/p>\n
Plus, if\u00a0you are wanting to get involved with athletics in some way, the Hawks Nest is always looking for Captains for individual sports as well as Executive Board Members.<\/p>\n
