One thing I’ve learned about being a student at the University of Iowa is that there’s nothing quite like football season in Iowa City! Between the excitement surrounding Kinnick Stadium and the sea of black and gold on game days, it’s one of my favorite parts of being a Hawkeye.<\/p>\n

Last year, I had the opportunity to atten\"\"d FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff for the Iowa vs. Oregon game. My friends and I arrived at 5 a.m. to get a spot right by the stage! While waking up that early wasn’t ideal, the experience was definitely worth it and is one of my favorite college memories.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, ESPN’s College GameDay came to Iowa City for the Ohio State game. I stopped by to experience the excitement, although I didn’t arrive nearly as early this time! Even from farther back, it was still so cool to see another national football broadcast right on our campus.<\/p>\n

Now, Big Noon Kickoff is returning for Homecoming Week as the Hawkeyes prepare to take on Wisconsin! Between the Homecoming festivities, school spirit, and excitement surrounding Saturday’s game, it’s shaping up to be another memorable weekend in Iowa City. Not to mention, the fall vibes are at an all-time high right now!<\/p>\n

Experiences like these remind me why I love being a Hawkeye. College is about more than classes and studying; it’s also about making memories and taking advantage of opportunities like these that you may not have after these four years at Iowa fly by! Whether you’re right by the stage or cheering from farther back, there’s nothing quite like being surrounded by Hawkeye fans!<\/p>\n
