I don&#39;t know.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I think I\u2019m in love with grade curves.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of freaking out about a test I can\u2019t retake, I can accept my grade and eat my sweet onion potato chips in peace. I can gallivant about Iowa City without a bad grade\u2019s haunting. I can watch <em>Sparticus<\/em> without cringing at the thought of another exam in a month (except I can\u2019t really watch <em>Sparticus<\/em> because it\u2019s too violent for me. Zach and James were kind of annoyed because I hid behind a pillow the whole time, but whatever\u2014it\u2019s my choice if I want to watch manslaughter).<\/p>\n<p>I also lost my prox card\u2014a little white card that allows access to the building\u2014and will most likely replace it, which is $20-30 to the Ubill, but it\u2019s fine. I needed a new one anyway (the old one looked kind of gross\u2014it was torn and the duct tape Zach used to attach it to the key chain stained it gray).<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m also exiled from my room (temporarily) because of an infestation. In fact, I\u2019m typing this on Alyssa and Becky\u2019s new shag rug because I\u2019m too frightened to sit at my desk. Evidently, plants don\u2019t crumple and brown when they\u2019re left alone for long periods of time. Bugs need homes too, and a dead plant is the perfect place to settle down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis would be cool if it weren\u2019t so disturbing.\u201d Zach looked at the cobwebs on the orchid. He pulled away and then moved closer to the dead flower. \u201cOH MY GOD, YOU HAVE AN INFESTATION.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to deal with it!\u201d I moved from the plant. \u201cI DON\u2019T WANT TO DEAL WITH IT.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTHEY\u2019RE LIKE WEIRD SPIDERS OR SOMETHING.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI DON\u2019T CARE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have an infestation!\u201d He couldn\u2019t stop laughing. I pulled him away from the infested plants. \u201cYou have to look at it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to deal with it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou <em>have<\/em> to deal with it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYOU DEAL WITH IT.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNO.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zach proceeded to tell Jaime (girl with long brown hair who writes plot-driven stories about deities) and Autumn (girl with curly reddish hair who writes short poems about virgins) about the weird red spider-things residing in my plants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou need to fill out a maintenance request,\u201d said Autumn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow long does it take them to get back to you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe later today or early tomorrow,\u201d said Jaime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWill it smell when they\u2019re done?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLeave the windows open,\u201d said Zach. \u201cThey\u2019re going to nuke your room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t think he knew I was glaring at him, but I was.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I\u2019m forced out of my room, and you know what? Being a nomad isn\u2019t as fun as it seems. Some people like to go where the wind takes them. <em>Some people<\/em>\u2014not me. I want my non-infested room with my non-infested plants and my non-infested telephone. I didn\u2019t invite these guests, so I want them out. Now.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t understand why my room is horribly infested with spider-things. I don\u2019t mean to sound like angsty teen, but spider-things are NOT my thing. Alyssa wants to quote Ron Weasley, and express her disdain for eight-legged creatures of EVIL, and I can\u2019t help but agree.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think I\u2019m in love with grade curves.
