It&#8217;s because of this that I like to make a spreadsheet with all my assignments for the semester. Making an assignment tracker sounds like a daunting task, but I promise it&#8217;s a lot easier than it sounds.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Create a Google spreadsheet (I&#8217;m sure there&#8217;s a way to do this in Excel too but I unfortunately lack those skills)<\/li>\r\n<li>Create two headers: &#8220;Assignments&#8221; and &#8220;Due Dates&#8221;<\/li>\r\n<li>Go through each course and write down all the assignments for the semester as well as their due dates.\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>Assign a color to each class (this makes it aesthetically pleasing)<\/li>\r\n<li>Select all the assignments and due dates (don&#8217;t forget to select the header row too)<\/li>\r\n<li>Click &#8220;Data&#8221; (it should be right below the title of the sheet)<\/li>\r\n<li>Click &#8220;Sort range&#8221; and then &#8220;Advanced range sorting options&#8221;<\/li>\r\n<li>In the pop-up box, click &#8220;Data has header row&#8221; and then under &#8220;Sort by&#8221; click &#8220;Due Date&#8221;\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>Click &#8220;Sort&#8221; and voila, you have your semester assignment tracker!<\/li>\r\n<li>You can make a note of when you complete assignments by either using the strike-through or check box feature<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.admissions.uiowa.edu\/simran\/files\/2025\/01\/Screenshot-2025-01-14-at-4.59.41\u202fPM-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-151 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.admissions.uiowa.edu\/simran\/files\/2025\/01\/Screenshot-2025-01-14-at-4.59.41\u202fPM-3-300x153.png\" alt=\"Screenshot of my assignment spreadsheet - color coded columns with assignment and due date.\" width=\"300\" height=\"153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.admissions.uiowa.edu\/simran\/files\/2025\/01\/Screenshot-2025-01-14-at-4.59.41\u202fPM-3-300x153.png 300w, https:\/\/blog.admissions.uiowa.edu\/simran\/files\/2025\/01\/Screenshot-2025-01-14-at-4.59.41\u202fPM-3-1024x523.png 1024w, https:\/\/blog.admissions.uiowa.edu\/simran\/files\/2025\/01\/Screenshot-2025-01-14-at-4.59.41\u202fPM-3-768x392.png 768w, https:\/\/blog.admissions.uiowa.edu\/simran\/files\/2025\/01\/Screenshot-2025-01-14-at-4.59.41\u202fPM-3.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>These are just the basic steps to do it, but I like to organize mine even more by adding in my tests\/quizzes, too, and bolding them with red text so they stand out. I also like to make a box around the week I am currently on so I don&#8217;t get overwhelmed by future assignments.
