Hi everyone, my name is Valeria Quintero and I am from Colombia, a country full of welcoming and loving people. I will be studying Pre-med at the University of Iowa. This will be my first year and I am so happy and excited. I will be living at Slater Hall and I am looking forward to the complete experience of living on campus.

Since I was little I knew I wanted to be a doctor because I love volunteering, helping others, and I must say I am a big fan of researching different illnesses. So I imagine this will be the first step and I feel really motivated for starting classes, and I am really happy this first step will be at Iowa! I decided to attend this university because of the complete experience I know I will be able to have in academics, which of course is great, and the other experiences I know I will also have. I hope we all have a great year full of new learning and great memories for life.
