Happy Halloween!
I think we all know that eating at the dining hall can be a game of guessing what you will or won’t like on any given day. While there are many options, I often find myself unsure of what actually looks good that day. I’ve avoided this problem by having a list of meals that I know are always good. These are the foods I never skip when I see them in Burge.
One of the grill station items I never skip is the Chicken Tempura Nuggets. They’re a classic and can be a side or the main part of the meal. I can always count on the Burge chicken nuggets to be a reliable good option to eat. Just a few steps over, the homestyle station sometimes has mashed potatoes and gravy, which have never been disappointing. When the dining hall is serving both mashed potatoes and chicken nuggets on the same day, I often eat them together.
At the pasta station, the meatball sauce with any plain pasta is an easy, simple choice. I have also discovered that mixing half a scoop of red sauce with half a scoop of Alfredo sauce makes the meal a lot better. The pasta station also frequently has garlic knots. Across from pasta is the soup station. The soups are hit or miss, but I really enjoy the Parmesan Sausage and Kale Soup and the French Onion Soup. The Italian Wedding Soup and Corn Chowder are also alright depending on what I’m in the mood for that day.
Last but not least, the dessert section. My absolute favorite dessert that Burge serves is the cookies and cream bars. I will get the cookies and cream bar every single time it is available. I also enjoy the ice cream station, of course, and the M&M bars. In the last few days, the ice cream station has added Mango Soft Serve, and I hope they continue to offer this option because I liked it a lot when I had it.
That’s all for today!
