About Me

SauvikHello! My name is Sauvik Goswami and I bleed black and gold. For those of you who are new to the Hawkeye Family, bleeding black and gold means to have pride in being a Hawkeye. Some days I think I literally bleed black and gold and here’s why… I am a 2013 graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Economics. My older sister is also an Iowa Alumni. My mom used to work for the University Hospital and Clinics, and my Dad works in research for the College of Medicine. At any given moment over the last couple of years there have been 4 Goswamis on our campus. To put that in perspective, there are probably only 4 Goswamis in the state of Iowa.

During my time at the University of Iowa I was able to develop my passion for higher education, student involvement, and leadership. I was extremely involved in organizations like the University of Iowa Student Government and the Indian Student Alliance. I was also able to start the first Bhangra team on campus- Hawkeye Bhangra. My last year on campus I was fortunate enough to receive the University of Iowa Diversity Catalyst Award. I would highly encourage any and all students at the University of Iowa to get involved with at least one organization, if not more!

I’ve been working in the Office of Admissions as an Admission Counselor for almost a year. My travel area includes southeastern Iowa and parts of Illinois and Wisconsin.

On this blog you can follow me in my travels and life as a University of Iowa Alum!
