About Faith

Hey everyone! My name is Faith and I am from Dubuque, IA, but just moved there about two years ago from around Indianapolis, IN. I am attending the University of Iowa as a Bright Scholar, and was my class’ Convocation Speaker. I am passionate about civic engagement, human rights, understanding cultures, COFFEE!!!, the environment, adventuring, learning in general, and ultimately just trying to do what I can to make this world a better place! I competed to attended the Global Youth Institute where I met with people and leaders from around the globe as we discussed how to end world hunger/food insecurity. I started many clubs while in high school regarding the empowerment of females as well as creating equitable access to feminine hygiene products for the individuals at my school. Once some sort of normalcy resumes, I plan to be involved in similar women’s empowerment groups, more civic engagement and global health clubs, and possibly student government. I hope to study abroad in Italy or somewhere else in Europe as well! fun fact: I had never visited Iowa City prior to my attendance, but have completely fallen in love with the city and the campus in the brief amount of time I have spent here (I walked a total of 78,000 steps within my first three days exploring if that tells you anything!!)! Anywho- thanks for reading a little bit about me, and thank you for coming alongside me while I begin this new and invigorating journey at the University of Iowa!
