I’m Mauricio, and I’m from Chicago, Illinois. I’m a first-year student majoring in finance. This year I will be living in Catlett in the BizHawks living learning community. Deciding to come to Iowa was an easy choice, I have always loved the sense of community that comes with a Big Ten school, but Iowa also did a great job of making me feel wanted. as a person and not as just another number. Over the summer I interned at Keebeck Wealth Management where I shadowed members of the investment teams and learned so much about the professional workplace. This internship along with the support of my parents has motivated me to excel in the classroom, and set high expectations for myself after graduation.
