There’s a reason you’re still thinking about Iowa. Let’s talk about it.
You’ll find your people here
Maybe you’ll find them in a lecture hall. Maybe it’s a 2 a.m. conversation in the residence halls that starts about your classes and ends up somewhere more interesting. Maybe it’s a student org that you joined on a whim (or for free snacks). Either way, the Hawkeye community has a way of sneaking up on you.

Iowa becomes yours quickly
One day, you’re navigating the Pentacrest like a tourist. Then you have a Java House order, and they start making it as soon as they see you walk in. You’ve claimed a table at the IMU terrace. You’ve taken that walk across the river at sunset enough times that it feels like yours. After a while, it stops feeling new and starts feeling like home.
You don’t have to have it figured out (nobody does)
That’s what college is for. Take the class that sounds interesting. Declare a major, then rethink it – which is why we have Academic Advising. Try a new student org. Iowa gives you the space to figure it out, and the resources to help when you’re ready to talk it through.

Being a Hawkeye means you’re part of a community
You’ll know it when you feel it – packed into Kinnick on a Saturday, running into your professor at Bluebird Diner, realizing your classmates have quietly become your people. It’s not something Iowa has to explain. It’s something that sticks with you, even after graduation.

You got this!
