About Me

My name is Jerry, and I’m from the “little big town” of Plainfield Illinois (the once “plain” field is conveniently located about 35 minutes south west of Chicago). I am an English major and will be getting a minor in Human Relations here at Iowa. I am heading into my senior year and am scared out of my mind to leave the tiny confines of Iowa City (so if there is anyone out there looking for a future employer please do let me know!). I am a huge sports fan, especially of the Chicago Bulls, Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox and of course our beloved Hawkeyes. Along with that, I am one of the founding members of the Hawks Nest (the official student fan section for all Hawkeye athletics). I currently sit as the Director of Public Relations on that board and am very passionate about getting as many fans as we can to support all of Iowa’s athletic teams.

I always wanted to attend a Big Ten university growing up, but I decided to follow my “hoop” dreams after high school, so I decided to attend St. Ambrose University in Davenport. After a few short weeks, I knew I belonged at Iowa (my first choice), so I transferred after one short year. Once I hit UI’s campus my sophomore year I never looked back.

Thanks for checking out my blog everyone and as always, GO HAWKS!
