Mina

Hi, my name is Mina, and I’m currently a freshman here at Iowa. My major is computer science, and I’m living in Daum Hall on campus this year. My dad had a big influence on my decision to attend the University of Iowa, since he attended graduate school here back in 1985.  Needless to say, he told me that those were some of the best years of his life.  I picked computer science as my major because I love the idea of creating the Facebook or Microsoft of the future.  Also, I want to be a part of the initiative that puts computer science classes in every high school and middle school in the country.  This vision is a huge motivator for me to become a better student and person, and will hopefully propel me through some frustrated nights of coding over the next four years!  My interests include playing the flute, which I will be doing in the University Band, golf, which I am terrible at but still love, and reading.  I’m extremely excited to share my experiences with all of you, and hope you find a source of inspiration/receive some helpful advice/enjoy my blog!
