Hello all,
Happy Thanksgiving week!! Fall break is finally here, and like everyone else, I am so excited to be on break. But my official break starts on Tuesday because I work at the Burge front desk. (But don’t worry, I got to choose to sign up for the shift I took), but I will say this weekend has already been nice. Not only did I get some work done, I got to rest, and go out with my friend. She is, as always, such a joy to be around. We went to Bread Garden and watched movies and drank hot cocoa. But I know you aren’t here to hear all about my coffee dates. So if you are looking for things to do in Iowa City during the breaks I wanted to give you some ideas for your Thanksgiving break!!!
First off, if you’re in the dorms while the dining halls are not open, you still have the option to go to Target or Bread Garden. Both are good and in walking distance. If you’re ok with a further walk, there is a Hy-vee close by, too.
We also have quite a collection of restaurants downtown, including Chipotle, Pancheros, Canes, Airliner, Marcos, and so much more.
For things to do. The gym is open, and the shops downtown are great for holiday shopping, whether you need to get some Christmas gifts or just need to treat yourself. Also, all the coffee shops downtown in the city are always great places not to only bring your computer to catch up on work or schedule appointments but always calm and quite a good space to just be yourself.
Last, if you went home, I hope you find some time to rest and be yourself. I know these next few weeks will be pretty crazy.
Happy Thanksgiving and Enjoy your fall break.
Cheers
Rose
