Hey, y’all!
This semester has flown by, and I am now two weeks out from graduation – crazy! I’m definitely feeling all the emotions right now.
This is my last week of class, and I’ve been soaking it up. I just have two more assignments, and then I am done with coursework! I have to film a video presentation for my Italian Food Culture class, I present my group’s mock company in Business of Media, and then I need to write a paper on the impact of the male characters on the heroines across four books I read in British Fiction.
Even though my chapter here at Iowa is coming to an end, I am thrilled about what is happening next! I have a full-time job lined up after graduating, working in sales insurance at a Fortune 500 back home in Arizona! I intend to continue pursuing publishing, writing, and traveling as well, with lots of fun trips with friends planned.
Three years ago, I came to the University of Iowa with nerves, excitement, and what I thought would be my path. I could have never even dreamed what Iowa would give me. I’ve met my for-lifers, worked and been published in 5+ lit mags, secured 5 internships, added on a minor in Media Management, studied abroad in Ireland, and discovered my passion for marketing/PR, not editorial. I also became a tour guide and an RA and ran a half-marathon.
I’m going to miss living in my beloved college town, seeing all the people walking and living their little lives each day, and seeing my friends daily.
Coming to Iowa is one of the best choices I have ever made, and I am so grateful for everything my experience has taught me and for the memories that will last a lifetime.
I also want to thank all of you who have followed along through the years, and I may have played a small part in your decision to attend Iowa.
