Mesa Mesa Mesa

Just brought my new roomie to Mesa for the first time for lunch. She was really skeptical and didn’t want to try any of the strange  topped pizzas. I tried and tried to persuade her towards the Mac and Cheese topped pizza, but she was not having any of that! Finally we settled on Philly-cheese Steak and the Spicy Southwest! The slices we’re HUGE and sooooooooooooo good! I think that is going to become one of our favorite places to eat together. She loved it! There is soo much variety of pizza you could never get sick of it!

Here is a picture of my dance team!

We have just done our last performance at Relay for Life and I honestly almost cried. It has been a great year with these girls and I look forward to the memories that next year will bring!

Dear Joslyn: Black Student Union

Here is Black Student Union’s webpage, unfortunately, it is a little outdated. I will be sure to talk to the executive board about the certain need for an update. On the other hand, it does include general information and it surely can assist you and your mother’s understanding on what BSU is all about.

Here is Black Student Union’s (BSU) Facebook Group.

The next listed website, is one that I highly encourage you to check out. It is up-to-date and includes resources on BSU, diversity scholarships and programs that can potentially be of benefit to you.

Here is a post I did with a few video clips,

Lastly, I would really take a look at the Iowa Edge Program. Participating in this program ensures a successful transition into college life. I participated in it last year, and I will be a Leader in the program this summer (because I loved it so much!) It’s not time for applications yet but I am sure in the next month or two it will be time.

SPRING

Here are some videos that I made a couple of weeks ago! 🙂

I took three different takes… and I was going to choose which one I liked the best-

However, I found that difficult to do.

So you all have the opportunity to enjoy all 3 videos of my walk to the Theater building! 😀

I Said a Hip Hop the Hippie the Hippie 2 the Hip Hip Hop & Ya Don’t Stop

Hip Hop class was a real workout today!

I had so much fun, we were learning the hip hop style of House dance!

The instructor Lovar D Kidd holds a lot of knowledge about all the various aspects of dance. In class we learned a little bit about the history of different styles and moves, then we practice technique, and lastly learn a short routine.

So far we covered: Lyrical/Smooth Hip Hop, Contemporary, Locking and House!

It is a nice stress reliever and it’s pretty cool…like ICE ICE BABY!!

haha…cheesy right?

I had to do it….lol

Economically Breathing

Okay, so we all know great time management skills is a necessity to survive college- and if you don’t have any when you get here, it wont be long before you shape up and acquire some.

I am sitting in the Main Library taking some time to cover my Microeconomics Lecture material. I don’t know what to expect it’s my first exam in this class and I really am at a loop for what to study. However, deep down inside I feel prepared. I haven’t missed a lecture, I’ve taken plenty of notes, exchanged my notes with my roommate (who is also in the same lecture-GENIUS! 🙂 ), and we even created some handy-dandy-flash cards.

I talked with my lovely academic advisor today-SHOUT OUT TO SHELL FEIJO- who is absolutely wonderful 🙂 She gave me some really great advice.

“Before you go into the exam…take a breath”

Haha, who would’ve thought?!!? I mean seriously. Who? Not me.

Sometimes I get so wrapped up in “Freaking Out” I forget to do the normal…breathe.

So this is me. Breathing.

Inhale

Exhale

🙂

p.s.

I found a website on the inside of my text book with practice quizzes and online flashcards…. Can someone say Prepared?
